My Journey

I started doing karate when I was very young, with my dad as my coach. My dad, being a devoted studier of the art, gave me a really good foundation of karate that largely helped shape the fighter I am today. However, my excellent form wasn't enough to get my on the US national team. Moving to Pittsburgh for college, I joined the dojo there and have been training there since with sessions at home anytime I'd visit (of course). With a few national team superstars as my training partners, I quickly learned about the pure grit and daily dedication it takes to win. Being humbled every time I lost a drill with either of them, it pushed me to work twice as hard inside and outside the dojo. Studying their athletic mindset hugely contributed to the level of athleticism I've achieved to this day. I finally secured my first spot on the national team in both the senior and adult divisions in 2021, a dream come true. Now, I've focused my efforts on securing a top seed position on the national team to qualify for the Pan American Games and fight for my country.
